Possible new housie?

So, our lease isn't up until March 31st.  That doesn't stop me from searching Craigslist every day and keeping tabs on what's available in the area we've been looking in (Hillcrest, Banker's Hill, Mission Hills, North Park, University Heights, etc) and I found the cutest place.

It's a house, and it's small.  It's about 1000 square feet, 2 bedroom 1 1/2 baths.  One of the bedrooms is super tiny, and probably best suited to an office long term.  The other bedroom is nice and big.  The whole place is newly upgraded, with new appliances, washer/dryer, jacuzzi bathtub, nice hardwood floors, and a super cute kitchen.  It has a big backyard with a doggie door so Bella (and our future French Bulldog, Beanbag) can run around freely.  I think even though it's small, it will be super cute for us.  The living spaces are nice sized, it's just the bathrooms that are really small.  I think with some creative storage and shelving, we could maximize the space to make it fit us great.

It's not for sure yet - but we got approval from our landlord to get out of our lease 1 month early as long as he finds a replacement.  I also have a rental application for this new place and it seems like they really want us to get it.  I'm trying not to get my hopes up - but I am finding myself getting really excited about having a yard for Bella and being close to the dog park and Balboa Park and Hillcrest and everything.  There is plenty of shed storage and parking too.   Here are some pictures of the place.

I'm a grown woman with a budget!

Luke helped me make my very own spending budget last night.  I'm really excited to stick to it and have all my bills paid off and be able to move into an awesome place as early as April.  Turns out we should be able to afford a pretty rad amount of rent each month that really opens up a lot of options for nice places to move to.

My spending goals are:

  • Be very careful with my spending on my horse Finnegan.  I need to not go overboard and really spend as little on him as I can.
  • Give myself a certain amount of "freebie" money a month and not go over it.
  • Do not spend more than $50 a month at Starbucks
  • Pay double on my bills to get them paid off quickly.
  • Go out to eat less and buy more groceries.
I think I can do it!  The hard part is the horse thing...I love him and I want to buy him things constantly!  At least he's getting better now and won't be needing as much attention.

Auditioning tomorrow...

Tomorrow evening I am auditioning for the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus.  I am scared.  There is a written portion of music theory, a sight-singing and rhythm portion, and a prepared piece.  I am going to be using Handel's "Where'er You Walk" as my audition piece, and I'm hoping that I don't screw it up too badly.

I really want to be involved with a choir again.  I'm excited for the opportunity, but I'm not expecting too much out of it.  I haven't sang seriously other than karaoke in a long time, and my music theory is far out of practice.  I have a lot of studying to do tomorrow!

Wish me luck! *crosses her fingers*

WoW... no really WOW

I've finally decided to level engineering. I hate myself for it. But I can't stop this terrible need for goggles and a shotgun. To max out engineering I need the following:

284 Cobalt Bar
43 Crystallized Water
10 Crystallized Earth
26 Borean Leather
13 Eternal Shadow
375 Saronite Bar
25 Skinning Knife
25 Minning Pick
25 Blacksmithing Hammer

Here's the real kicker:

375 Saronite Bar = 750 pieces of ore!!! SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY!!!
